Preston County accused of kidnapping, held without bail

MONONGALIA CIOUNTY, W.Va. – A Preston County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly kidnapping a local man and forcing him at gun point to drive for two and a half hours.

The victim told police he picked up Anthony Shuttlesworth, 29, in Kingwood because he was looking for a ride. The victim told police he bacame very unnerved when Shuttlesworth pulled a knife from his pocket and placed in his lap. Shuutlesworth then tiold the victim he was going to drown him in Cheat Lake.

Next, Shuttlesworth forced the victim to drive for two and a half hours toward Uniontown.

During the trip, Shuttlesworth allowed the victim to go into the BFS on Fortress Road and get a drink. While inside the victim told employees to call the police.

Police arrived and took Shuttlesworth into custody and charged him with Kidnapping. He was being held in the North Central Regional Jail without bail.
