Preston County teacher abuse case headed to circuit court

KINGWOOD, W.Va. Probable cause has been found in the case of a Preston County school teacher who used duct tape on a student and now she is awaiting the trial to be scheduled in circuit court.

Cassandra Sisler, 43, is accused of using duct tape on a Central Preston Middle School student’s mouth and hands to restrain him on two occasions in October.

According to court documents, the juvenile told investigators Sisler used the tape from ear-to-ear over the mouth, and it made his lips sore. The victim also said Sisler used the tape to restrain the hands, and on one occasion, he used a stronger type of tape on the head, mouth, and shoulders.

The West Virginia State Police conducted the investigation.

Preston County Schools Superintendent declined comment but has said officials are taking the matter seriously.

Sisler is free on a $40,000 bond.
