Public invited to 2020 Legislative Launch

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Morgantown Area Partnership invites the public to the 2020 Legislative launch Tuesday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriot at University Town Centre.

Libby Durr with MAP breaks down the components of the organization.

“MAP is a coordinated alliance deisgned for the betterment of economic, business and community development,”Durr said,”It includes the Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce, The Monongalia County Develpment Authority, Morgantown Area Economic Partnership and the Campus Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation or Sunnyside Up.”

Residents will be able to hear remarks from and ask questions of Senators Bob Beach and Charles Clements, Delegates Danielle Walker, Barbara Evans Fleischauer, John Williams and Rodney Piles. The meeting will begin with a presentation from Mon County commission president Tom Bloom about his recent meeting with DOH secretary Bryd White.

Durr says the meeting will feature time focusing on transportation and roadways, higher education funding, future funding for the Public Employees Insurance Agency and investing in tourism.
