Randolph County student hit, injured in school parking lot Tuesday

COALTON, W.Va. A student from Coalton Elementary School was struck by a car in the school parking lot and injured Tuesday.

Deputies from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department said the incident happened when a motorist traveling in the parking lot looked left to turn onto Broadway Avenue when the student came from the right and was hit.

Deputies said the student was treated for minor injuries at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

Deputies are still reviewing evidence in the case.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department is conducting the investigation.

The Coalton Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
