Red Cross assisting Fairmont apartment fire victims

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The Red Cross has reportedly been called to assist Fairmont residents whose home caught fire early Saturday morning.

Acording to Marion County Homeland Security & Homeland Management the fire at 1906 Country Club Road was reported about 5:30 a.m.

Monongah Volunteer Fire Department is leading the fire investigation at the home built in the 1920’s. The home had been turned into a multi-unit apartment building.

The fire was reportedly under control at approximately 7:00 a.m.

Fire crews from Pleasant Valley, Barrackville, Worthington and Rivesville assisted at the scene.

Marion County EMS was also called. There were no reports of injuries.

Country Club Road had to be closed for a time.
