Search warrants served in Harrison County catalytic converter theft investigation

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – On Monday, multiple agencies executed three search warrants in connection with an ongoing investigation into the theft of catalytic converters.

Detectives from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Bridgeport Police Department, Clarksburg Police Department, FBI and the WV Department of Revenue State Tax Office Criminal Investigation Division served the warrants at Deals on Wheels in the East View section of Harrison County, The Top Dog Diner near Nutter Fort and a residence in the Liberty Addition area.

Catalytic convertor thefts have been spiking in the area due the soaring scrap prices for the metals inside. “Today’s events will definitely help to eradicate the current trends in catalytic converter thefts in the area,” Sheriff Robert Matheny said.
