Second person charged in Marion County homicide

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A second person has been charged in the death of Josephus Coburn, the man found dead in northern Marion County in March.

Christopher Earl Jones, 23, of Fairmont, is charged with first degree murder in Coburn’s death.

According to a criminal complaint, Jones was part of a previously contrived plan and conspiracy with DeShawn David Glover, who has previously been charged in the death. Glover admitted to police of killing and shooting Coburn on March 14 at a home along Kisner Hill Road in Fairmont.

Jones provided the weapon Glover used to kill Coburn and also contrived the plan to move Coburn to the planned location, according to court documents.

Coburn, 34, was found dead by two hunters March 24 in a wooded area off Route 73 North near the Monongalia County line. The death was ruled a homicide.
