Second suspect arrested in Preston County carjacking

PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va. A second suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a Preston County carjacking last week.

Troy Robair Merry, 54, of Frederick, Maryland, has now been charged with first-degree armed robbery following the May 15 incident in the Bruceton Mills area.

Merry and Chandler Martin, 21, of New Martinsville, are accused of taking a woman’s car at gunpoint and later crashing it on Old Route 73.

Martin was captured on May 15 near the scene of the crash. Merry fled on foot and was taken into custody later.

The female victim told police she was forced into the backseat but was able to jump out before the men fled.
