Sheriff’s Department investigating robbery near WVU football stadium

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A robbery where three men stole an iPhone X from a victim in Morgantown is under investigation, the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday morning.

The crime occurred late Monday night. A single victim told police he was robbed on Willowdale Road while walking to a residence. The victim claims he was jumped by three black males in a parking lot. The victim was allegedly shoved to the ground while two suspects displayed pistols. He was robbed of money an iPhone X, and his wallet.

The suspects told the victim to remain on the ground until they left or they would shoot him. They sped away in a maroon Toyota Camry towards the WVU football stadium on Willowdale Road/Don Nehlen Drive.

One suspect was described as hving a black polo type shirt with an emblem on it. He also reportedly had dreadlocks. The other two suspects, each carrying black pistols, were wearing black hoodie shirts.

The victim was not injured in the altercation.
