Siblings arrested in Morgantown armed robbery investigation

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A brother and sister are in custody accused of a Morgantown armed robbery.

Kaya Samone Lee, 20 years old, and Japheth Krestos Lee, 22 years old, were arrested Monday evening and charged with first degree robbery (armed robbery).

According to Morgantown Police Chief Ed

Preston, they stole $30,000 worth of cash, jewelry and electronics from a victim on Grant Avenue.

The suspects allegedly took credit cards, U.S. and Canadian cash, an iPhone, a Canon camera and multiple pieces of jewelry.

Many of the items were recovered, and detectives are working to find more.

The victim told police he was afraid to immediately report Friday’s armed robbery. He contacted police the next day.

Kaya and Japheth Lee were taken to the North Central Regional Jail.
