Six drug-related arrests made at Morgantown apartment complex

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Six people are facing drug charges after a raid on a Van Voorhis Road apartment by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force.

Documents say police believe Tyleal Fitzgerald, 27, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Caleb Dauphine, 25, of Fredericksburg, Virginia were selling controlled substances from the location.

During the search warrant service police detained Fitzgerald and Dauphine, along with Davonte Horton, 20, and Malik Owens, 19, both of Baltimore, Maryland; and Joeshawn Davis, 32, of Akron, Ohio.

Police noted the only item of furniture in the apartment was a table. The table had scales and multiple baggies ready to weigh and distribute drugs.

Police recovered 14 bags of bulk white powder that tested positive for fentanyl, two bags that tested positive for methamphetamine and one positive for cocaine.

All five suspects have been charged with possession with intent to distribute. Fitzgerald and Davis each had outstanding warrants from other states.

In a search of another residence, police recovered a bag fentanyl in the front pocket of Clifton Tyler, 37, of Detroit, Michigan. In the residence police found another bag containing suspected fentanyl and what was believed to be ecstasy pills. Police also recovered scales, packaging materials and two handguns.

Tyler has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.

An unidentified female was not arrested.
