Spots open for the Sheetz Community Baseball Clinic with Ripken Baseball coaches at Mylan Park Tuesday

MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. –  Spots are open in the free Sheetz Community Baseball Clinic with Ripken Baseball coaches at Mylan Park on Tuesday, May 23. Lead Coach Zac Crowe said the clinic is for kids from ages 5 to 14 from 6 to 9 p.m.

“We teach them baseball and softball the “Ripken Way,” Crowe said. “We teach them the same way Billy and Cal Ripken were taught by their father.”

There are spots for up to 200 kids to learn infield and outfield techniques, plus hitting and throwing fundamentals, in a positive environment.

“We get to take over some really cool fields with really good equipment and coaches,” Crowe said. “And these coaches come with a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the games of baseball and softball.”

The clinic is for all skill levels and can be a good opportunity to introduce the sport to younger players. All participants will receive a gift from Sheetz.

“We break it down to the basics and progress our way up from there in each station, usually ending with a game or competition,” Crowe said. “Although you’re learning a lot, there’s also some fun involved.”
