WESTOVER, W.Va. – An outstanding warrant led to an arrest and foot pursuit by Westover police Monday.
Westover police officer discovered the driver of a car with Pennsylvania plates had outstanding criminal warrants in Monongalia County during a traffic stop. The subject, Joseph Szczyrbak, pulled into the VFW on Dunkard Avenue and fled on foot. He was caught several minutes later and was very combative with police.
During a search of his car police found a small amount of marijuana in the center console.
Szczyrbak has been charged with obstructing an officer.
