Suspicious vehicle report leads to two drug arrests in Granville

GRANVILLE, W.Va. – Two are facing charges in Monongalia County after an investigation into a suspicious vehicle resulted in the discovery of drugs.

On Wednesday, officers from the Granville Police Department were called to the Domain at Towne Center due to a suspected theft.

When police arrived, they made contact with Shawn Johnson, 30, and Steven Sharps, 43, both of Kingwood. Johnson told police Sharps paid him $7 to $10 to drive him from Preston to Monongalia County to play video games and visit a friend’s apartment. But when questioned, Johnson did not know the friend’s name or apartment location.

Police then learned Sharps had an outstanding warrant and took him into custody. While processing Sharps, police found 91.5 grams of methamphetamine and 1.5 grams of fentanyl.

Johnson and Sharps have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and are being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
