Tucker County student faces long suspension for Safe Schools Act violation

TUCKER COUNTY, W.Va. – The Tucker County Board of Education has agreed to a lengthy suspension for an unidentified student for violation of the Safe Schools Act.

Discussion on the matter was held in executive session, but the board held a public vote suspending the student for 365 days.

Officials did not specify, but the move comes about a month after a student was caught carrying a weapon onto a school bus.

Soon after, bus drivers in the county completed threat preparedness training.
