Two downtown fires reported in Morgantown Thursday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Firefighters in Morgantown responded to two downtown fires on Thursday.

The first call was at 10:17 a.m. to 101 Fourth Street where firefighters found a pile of trees and corner of a semi-trailer loaded with wood in flames. Firefighters quickly attacked and extinguished the fire.

The property is owned by Morgantown Engineering and Construction, Inc. No loss was declared and the cause is under investigation.

The second fire was in the kitchen area of the Hoot And Howl at 245 Walnut Street. The fire suppression system doused the fire before firefighters arrived on scene.

Damage in the Walnut Street fire was estimated at $50.
