Two injured in New Year’s Day shooting

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two men are recovering from gunshot wounds they suffered during a New Year’s Eve celebration in Monongalia County.

Robert Cralton, 27, of Morgantown was charged with malicious wounding in the incident along Cassville-Mount Morris Road late Sunday night. According to deputies, was hosting a New Year’s Eve party when he allegedly shot two family members with a .22 caliber revolver. The pistol was recovered at the scene.

By the time deputies arrived at the home, the two men had already been taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Cralton was arrested at the scene without incident. He faces two counts of malicious wounding and taken to North Central Regional Jail with bond set $150,000.
