Welfare check leads to child abuse arrest in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Troopers from the West Virginia State Police have arrested a Morgantown man after two juveniles reported physical abuse Sunday.

During a welfare check two males, a 13 and 15-year-old told police James Seyed-Ashraf, 33, had assaulted them. One child told police Seyed-Ashraf pushed him, slammed his head on the ground and choked him until he was unconscious.

Seyed-Ashraf admitted to the allegations and was charged with child abuse resulting in injury.
