West Union man accused of kidnapping, sexual abuse

WEST UNION, W.Va. – Doddridge County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a West Union man for allegedly holding a woman against her will for two days and sexualy abusing her.

On July 11 and 12 police say Nathan Leggett, 28, held the woman at her home on West Virginia Route 18 North, took her cell phone, tires and wheels off of her car and forced her to have sex. The victim fled to a nearby 7-11 to call for help when Leggett went to the bathroom.

During a sexual assault Leggett allegedly grabbed her throat, flipped her on her stomach and threaten to smother her with a pillow if she didn’t quiet down.

Monday, July 15 deputies observed Leggett walking on a bridge near West Virginia Route 18 North and made the arrest. Leggett has been charged with kidnapping, sexual abuse and domestic assault-third offense and obstructing an officer. He is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
