Willey Street paving work delayed for WVU student move-in

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. After conversations between the West Virginia Department of Highways and Anderson Excavating, the contractor for milling and paving on Willey Street, the start of the project has been delayed until August 14.

West Virginia University student move-in is scheduled between Thursday, August 10 and Saturday, August 12, so the delay puts the start of any traffic restriction beyond the expected congestion during that time.

On August 14, one lane of Willey Street will be closed from the intersection of Spruce Street to WV 705 between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. for milling, paving, and shoulder work. One lane will be maintained throughout the project by flaggers.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time through the area.

The work is expected to be completed in November of this year.
