Woman charged after crash involving five unrestrained children

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – A Fairmont woman is facing charges after crashing a car with five unrestrained children in the back seat on Monday.

Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department say Lindsey Wells, 27, drove recklessly and caused an accident at an unspecified location with children ranging in age from two to 12 who were unrestrained in the back seat.

Deputies said they allegedly stopped Wells from leaving the car and the children from going back inside her apartment after the crash.

Wells has been charged with five counts of child neglect with a risk of injury and is free on bond.
