WVU Dean: No current plan to sell any ag resources owned by the university

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Ken Blemmings, interim dean of the Davis College of Agriculture says a decision regarding dairy or milking cows will shared with faculty and staff some time tomorrow. Blemmings does acknowledge an external review of all seven farms and 3,000 acres operated by the school that determined some improvements could be made.

Now, Blemmings says an internal group is taking that information to formulate a plan for the future.

Blemmings said,”We are working with an internal group, this internal group is working toward developing a forward looking strategy for the farm system that prioritizes resources to support their research and teaching missions.”

Blemmings made it clear that there are no current plans to sell any part of the WVU ag education system.

The dairy meeting for tomorrow is closed to the public.
