WVU fraternity placed on interim suspension due to underaged alcohol violation

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Lambda Chi Alpha chapter is under a interim suspension for an alleged underaged alcohol consumption-rerlation violation.

The violations allegedly occurred during a registered event on Jan. 12, in which WVU Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities said,”the fraternity endangered fellow students as well as members of the Morgantown community.”

The fraternity has been cited for aiding, abetting, assisting or facilitating prohibited behavior, endangerment and abuse of the Campus Student Code.

This is the second under aged alcohol-related offense this academic year that the fraternity has been placed on interim suspension for.

During its suspension, the fraternity and its members cannot organize or attend social functions as a chapter, or host or co-host social activities.

The fraternity has five days to request a review for reversal or reconsideration of the sanctions.
