WVU police investigate report of missing student; no foul play suspected at this time

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University Police are investigating the report of a missing WVU student, TaShala Turner.

The office confirmed and referred The Dominion Post to an announcement it posted on Twitter . The post says they are aware of the reports and have been in touch with the family.

“And while there is a concern for TaShala’s wellbeing, we do not suspect foul play is involved at this time. UPD will continue to investigate this case,” the department posted.

The social media reports say Turner has been missing since Nov. 27. Logs of her account transactions suggest she is in Florida.

The Dominion Post archives show that Turner, now a member of the WVU cross country team, was a University High standout: Class AAA state meet runner-up her sophomore and senior years as well as a three-time all-state selection and a four time all-Ohio Valley Athletic Conference selection.

Among the social media sites posting word of her being missing is the National Center for Missing and Endangered. It says she is 19, with blond hair and green eyes, and is 5 feet f5 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds.

It says she drives a white Hyundai Tucson and made a stop at a Citgo in St. Augustine, Fla.
