FAIRMONT, W.Va. — One person was taken to the hospital after a crash near the Fairmont Municipal Airport Friday afternoon.
Dispatchers with Marion County 911 confirmed a small plane crashed on landing near the airport off of the Kingmont Road exit. That accident was reported just before 2 p.m.
The extent of the vicim’s injuries is unknown.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department was initially leading the investigation.
Valley Fire Department and Winfield Fire Department responded to the scene.
Workers at a tractor dealership, located within site of the airport, had not heard or seen evidence of that small plane crash shortly after reports came into our newsrooms.
