Charges filed in fatal pedestrian accident

BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. – West Virginia State Police have charged Tara Evans, 27, of Bruceton Mills, with involuntary manslaughter, negligent homicide, reckless driving and texting while driving.

Evans was driving a vehicle that struck and killed Robin Ames, 37, Monday afternoon around 5:15 p.m. on Old Route 73.

Ames died at the scene, Evans was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Evans told police she was on her cell phone when she heard a “thud,” then saw the victim, Robin Ames.
