First Exchange Bank to open new South Fairmont headquarters

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Serving North Central West Virginia from its Mannington location since 1932, First Exchange Bank will be opening a new headquarters in South Fairmont.

The new location will be on the corner of Nasa Boulevard and U.S. Route 250 across from Dan Cava’s Toyota World.

“Our goal has been to develop into the premier regional bank in North Central West Virginia and beyond,” CEO Bill Goettel said in a press release issued Friday. “Training and development of our employees coupled with excellent products and a solid Information Technology base has provided a great foundation.”

Goettel said the new location will be the cornerstone of the bank’s mission to become the premier regional bank.

“For those of you unfamiliar with the site, it has great visibility from Interstate 79 and U.S. Route 250, which will provide a great branding opportunity for us,” he said. “We plan to take full advantage of this opportunity by locating a state of the art facility, including a retail branch, operations center and our corporate headquarters.”

First Exchange Bank has deep roots in Marion County, birthed as the combination of the Bank of Mannington, First National Bank of Mannington and the Exchange Bank of Mannington in 1932.

Since then, the operation has grown to include six office locations in Fairmont, Morgantown, Fairview and Barrackville.

“Our mission is to deliver exceptional personal service to each of our customers, and that will not change at any of our current locations,” said Brent Skidmore, senior vice president and chief lending officer of First Exchange Bank. “We will continue an emphasis on offering great banking products while providing our customers an additional location to access our great service and products.

“This new location for our headquarters helps us to centralize our efforts and bring out ‘Real Life Banking’ experience to new customers, while providing an additional location for our current customers.”
