MONONGALIA COUNTY, W.Va. – Law enforcement officials in Monongalia and Preston Counties are looking for Mark Hart. Hart has burglary and felony warrants and eluded police this week.
Police have now confirmed Hart is responsible for the theft of a vehicle from Finish Line Motors Wednesday at 4 a.m. He ditched that vehicle when police began to pursue him in Preston County.
When Preston County deputies recognized him walking along Route 92 they attempted to make an arrest and he fled. Hart managed to escape the perimeter, stole a car in Arthurdale and fled into Monongalia County.
West Virginia State Police quickly recovered the vehicle on Cobun Creek Road and returned it to the owner.
