Marion County officials look for ways to control geese

MARION COUNTY, W.Va. – Officials in Marion County are implementing a unique solution to the nuisance caused by geese in Palatine Park.

After receiving several complaints from residents county workers began looking for non-lethal methods to encourage the birds to move along. Hunting or shooting geese in the city limits is against the law.

The best method has been a spray that makes the grass bitter, laser pointers are also effective, reports indicate.

The practice will continue until the birds migrate in October.
