Pennsylvania man arrested in Fairmont with large quantity of meth

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Police in Fairmont arrested a Pennsylvania man sleeping in his vehicle with a large quantity of methamphetamine.

Police observed Raymond Perkins, 34, of Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania, sleeping in his car on Rhea Terrace Wednesday.

When police made contact with Perkins he told them there was marijuana in the car. A police canine officer verified the presence of controlled substances and conducted a search.

Police found a small amount of marijuana, two large bags of a substance that field tested positive as methamphetamine and a set of scales. Police say the methamphetamine weighed 2.5 ounces.

Perkins is being held for possession with intent to distribute and is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
